Join our team Lavelle industries is looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager. As CI Manager, you will be an integral part of our Operations team, maintaining responsibility for Lavelle’s Quality Management System and leading the quality control team. This individual will drive continuous improvement objectives relating to safety, part/process quality, delivery and cost. This is a highly visible position that works cross functionally with sales, manufacturing, engineering, and finance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing developmental leadership for direct reports including Quality Engineers and Quality Control Technicians.
  • Sustaining and improving Lavelle’s Quality Management System within all locations to include processes such as:
    • Internal Auditing
    • Standard Work
    • Complaints, returns, nonconformance, and corrective actions
    • Engineering Change Process
    • Supplier Quality
    • Metrology and Calibration
  • Overseeing prompt and thorough resolutions of customer complaints and quality issues, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Providing quality guidance to Lavelle’s NPL process and support for PPAP submission (internal & external).
  • Serving as Lavelle’s statistical, DoE and problem-solving tools expert as a resource to Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering for coaching and/or analysis.
  • Providing and/or overseeing Quality System and Continuous Improvement training for Lavelle employees.
  • Leading, facilitating and/or sponsoring teams focusing on improving Lavelle's QMS processes. Encourage and support the PDSA process.
  • Assisting in developing a continuous improvement culture to include coaching others to develop problem solving skills.
  • Owning Lavelle's operator training program. Leading cross functional teams to improve operator training.
  • Preparing and presenting reports on quality metrics, improvement initiatives, and project outcomes to senior management.

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quality or industrial engineering or related field with five years of experience in a quality and continuous improvement role with two years in a management role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of Quality Management System best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills, including 5 Why analysis, SPC, DOE, and PDSA
  • Experience implementing lean methodologies i.e. standard work, TPM, 5S
  • Ability to work under pressure with time constraints and minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, project management and follow-through skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different departments and levels of the organization.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word and other Web-based applications
  • Knowledgeable in Mini-Tab is a strong plus
  • Experience in rubber and/or plastic molding is a plus
