Job Summary:
Based in the vibrant and historic city of Galveston, TX, this role offers a unique blend of stability and adventure. You’ll lead large-scale marine dredging and construction projects while traveling to diverse project sites within a 100–200-mile radius and beyond. As a Project Manager, you’ll oversee the full project life cycle, ensuring $50M+ projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including coastal restoration, port development, channel dredging, and capital dredging.

Our rotational schedule (14 days on / 7 days off) ensures a balanced work-life dynamic, providing ample time to recharge between assignments. This role provides opportunities to travel to different coastal regions while also maintaining flexibility in work location depending on the project phase. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full project life cycle for $50M+ dredging and marine construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Develop detailed work plans and strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
  • Oversee dredge material management, tidal impact management, and the deployment of Cutter Suction Dredgers (CSD) and Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHD) to ensure optimal project performance.
  • Lead project teams and ensure adherence to safety protocols and company standards.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, ensuring alignment with project objectives and environmental goals.
  • Oversee financial reporting and control costs, including labor, dredging equipment, and consumables.
  • Ensure accurate dredge profiling, bathymetric surveying, and sediment transport to drive production efficiency.
  • Provide regular reporting on project status, KPIs, and production updates.
  • Ensure that all operations meet the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and environmental protection.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in marine dredging or marine construction project management, overseeing projects valued at $50M+.
  • Certifications: TWIC preferred; ability to obtain if not certified.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting dredging project plans and contracts.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities to manage complex projects.
  • Experience with surveying and mapping, production data analysis, and dredging automation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with dredging control systems and data-driven strategies to optimize project performance.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to wear PPE, including hard hats and safety glasses.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and working in outdoor environments.
  • Comfortable working in marine environments, including exposure to heat, humidity, and confined spaces.
