Job Summary:
As the Project Superintendent – Marine Dredging, you will lead daily dredging operations, including hydraulic dredging systems, dredge pipeline management, and marine logistics on large-scale dredging projects like the Galveston Houston Ship Channel Dredging and Corpus Christi Ship Channel Deepening. You’ll ensure dredging efficiency optimization while maintaining safety standards and environmental compliance with USACE permit requirements.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and in adherence to marine safety protocols and environmental regulations.
We provide a rotational schedule (14 days on / 7 days off) that balances challenging work with time off, allowing for personal and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead hydraulic dredging operations, managing dredge equipment such as Cutter Suction Dredgers (CSD), Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHD), and dredge pipelines.
- Supervise sediment removal, dredging production monitoring, and marine logistics to ensure adherence to project schedules and environmental standards.
- Oversee the mobilization, setup, and demobilization of dredging equipment, while ensuring compliance with USACE standards and marine environmental permitting.
- Monitor dredging production data and sediment transport, providing reports on dredging material management, turbidity control, and environmental impact assessment (EIA) compliance.
- Develop and manage project work plans, budgets, and schedules, coordinating with project engineers and dredge superintendents to meet production targets.
- Ensure compliance with coastal erosion control, turbidity monitoring, and marine habitat protection regulations.
- Manage crew scheduling, ensuring optimal staffing levels and safety training, including OSHA 30-Hour and HAZWOPER requirements.
- Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure project goals, risks, and timelines are aligned and met.
- Ensure cost control by managing the procurement of equipment, fuel, labor, and consumables, while optimizing dredging production rates.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and contribute to project estimation and resource planning.
- Provide regular updates to management and clients regarding project progress, safety compliance, and financial performance.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5+ years of experience in marine dredging or marine construction, managing projects valued at $10M+.
- In-depth knowledge of hydraulic dredging, dredge pipeline management, and sediment removal techniques.
- Certifications: TWIC required (must be able to obtain if not certified); OSHA 30-Hour and HAZWOPER preferred.
- Proficiency in using project management tools such as Procore, Primavera P6, and AutoCAD for marine engineering and bathymetric surveying.
- Experience with USACE permit compliance, coastal restoration, and environmental impact assessments (EIA).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and project delivery.
- Willingness to travel and work on a rotational schedule in remote project locations.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with environmental permitting, marine habitat protection, and USACE compliance.
- Expertise in dredging production monitoring, dredging automation, and dredging efficiency optimization techniques.
- Experience with channel dredging, coastal dredging, and environmental dredging techniques.
