The Controller will support the CFO in managing all aspects of the daily, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting duties for the Company. You will be responsible for overseeing a variety of functions surrounding accounting, finance, tax, financial analysis, decision support, monthly close, and technology integration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
· Responsible for compliance of accuracy of the financial statement package ensuring compliance to US GAAP.
· Assist CFO with investor reporting package and board deck.
· Manage the Company’s month-end closing process including all account reconciliations and corresponding journal entries.
· Supervise all operational accounting functions including Cash, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Debt and Payroll.
· Partner with other functional leaders on Special projects.
· Oversee the Company’s fixed assets including depreciation, amortization, capitalization, and disposition of all company assets on the Balance Sheet.
· Responsible for reviewing and researching tax issues to help ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local tax laws.
· Assist with all Year-end items including close and compliance.
· Compile data and work with outside CPA firms to complete local, state, and federal income tax returns.
· Responsible for creating and implementing policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues and develop procedures to continually improve the close and reporting process to make it more accurate and efficient.
· Provide leadership in the development and the continuous evaluation of short and long-term financial objectives. Coordinate annual audit with external audit firm and develop audit materials as needed.
· Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions.
· Additional duties as assigned, not determined at the time of hire.
Requirements
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a Master’s degree highly preferred. A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. General understanding of healthcare and compliance; experience self-managing projects and workflow.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
CPA required.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Must have excellent written and verbal communication.
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
Strong Proficiency in Microsoft products including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with MS Dynamics preferred.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Ability to work with Senior Management to ensure financial directives are followed. Must be able to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. A quick learner, deadline driven, with a can-do attitude are essential traits for our successful candidate.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.
