Civil Science is currently looking to add Entry-Level Survey Technician to our St. George, Utah office. Are you looking to kickstart your career in surveying and CAD design? We are seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Entry-Level Survey CAD Technicians. No prior experience is necessary—we are willing to provide comprehensive training for the right candidates who are eager to learn and grow within the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of survey maps and CAD drawings based on field data, conducting field surveys and collecting data
  • Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings based on project specifications.
  • Collaborate with survey teams to ensure accurate and timely data collection
  • Support senior technicians and engineers in various design/Survey tasks, in-office and in-field
  • Accurately document and record survey results, Maintain and organize project documentation and files
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards

Minimum Requirements

  • A High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Eagerness to learn and evolve within a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis, work in all weather conditions, and on different terrain.

Nice to Have- (will teach)

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D to:
    • reduce survey data and create topographic survey and terrain models/surfaces
    • plot legal descriptions and create legal boundaries for plat maps, ALTA's, and other legal instruments
  • Experience with survey data field collection methods/procedures.
  • Experience with LiDAR data post-processing will be highly valued.
  • Understanding of and an ability to review construction plans and drawings to prepare survey/construction staking data.
  • CADD experience with survey and/or civil engineering projects related to land development, municipal infrastructure/utilities, or transportation.

Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass both a criminal background check and driving record review.
