Millstone Weber LLC is seeking a highly skilled Survey Technician to join our team. As a Survey Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and precision of our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and Organize Surveying Efforts: Develop and implement surveying plans to determine precise locations and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, mapmaking, land division, titles, mining, or other purposes.
- Field Surveying: Conduct field surveys to obtain data for base plans, including staking pavement, sewers, and rail, running a level loop, and learning to run various surveying equipment such as the Leica PaveSmart system, Trimble DiNi, Trimble GPS, and Trimble Total Station.
- Work with Project Manager and Other Surveyors: Collaborate with project managers and other surveyors to complete surveys, provide work control lines and elevations, and ensure accurate measurement and correct installation of materials.
- Keep Accurate Records: Maintain accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed.
- Provide Topographic and Cross-Section Surveys: Provide topographic and cross-section surveys as required for planning and payment quantities.
- Quantity Calculations: Provide quantity calculations as required.
Requirements
- Experience: 1-2+ years of experience in surveying in heavy civil construction, preferably.
- Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, GPS Systems, and Microsoft Office. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and resolve everyday problems.
- Education: Not specified.
Working Conditions
Outside environment, exposure to all weather conditions and temperatures. Site-specific exposure to hazardous materials requiring proper use of Personal Protective Equipment. Noise levels are site-specific and may be subject to PPE.
Physical Requirements
- Constantly standing, walking, using hands to handle/feel objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop or kneel.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
