Position Summary:

As the Full Time Vice President of Sales and Marketing at United Beverages of North Carolina, LLC, you will be crucial in driving strategic leadership within the company. A minimum of five years of sales distribution leadership experience in the beverage industry is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership abilities, financial acumen, and cross-functional knowledge of logistics and technology. Critical thinking skills, a results-focused leadership style, and excellent communication abilities are essential for this role. Additionally, the ability to travel up to 30% of the time is necessary for engaging with customers and overseeing operations effectively.

This position requires a strategic mindset, a collaborative approach, and a focus on driving business performance in a dynamic industry.

The knowledge and skills required for the position are:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Direct, administer, and coordinate all sales and marketing activities through the company's policies, goals, and objectives.
  • Contribute to the company's strategic planning process and develop the annual revenue plan. Present and gain approval for the company's revenue plan.
  • Oversee the forecasting of sales volume and revenue by SKU.

Sales and Marketing Management:

  • Direct a go-to-market plan that balances the needs of retailers and the company's delivery resources.
  • Ensure the presentation of the company's product portfolio is maximized at retail.

Supplier Relations:

  • Act as the primary contact with all suppliers, responsible for approving their annual budget requests.
  • Facilitate the approach and allocation of resources to merchandise accounts.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination of retail sales efforts and programming with suppliers.

Quality and Compliance:

  • Ensure all in the Sales Department understand and adhere to quality policies and systems.
  • Implement systems to audit quality at retail and ensure an effective approach to installing and maintaining draught products.
  • Ensure that everyone within the department complies with all state, local, and federal laws regarding selling and distributing the company's products.

Portfolio Management:

  • Oversee portfolio management, including analysis and recommendations for adding or deleting products.
  • Establish processes and systems to communicate information affecting order forecasts for each SKU to the Inventory Manager.

Organizational Development:

  • Design the organizational structure for the Sales and Marketing Departments-partner with HR to oversee recruiting, hiring, and training processes.
  • Approve the hiring of all mid-managers and above.
  • Ensure the accountabilities of all department members are defined and understood.

Executive Team Participation:

  • Participate on the Executive Team in the development and execution of tactical and strategic plans.
  • Manage, communicate, and enforce all company policies, processes, and standards.
Required Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in a related field is required; an MBA is preferred. Equivalent combinations of work experience, education, and training may be considered.

  • At least five years of sales distribution leadership experience, preferably in the beverage distribution industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead sales force teams using a diagnostic sales approach utilizing financial and market data with product knowledge.
  • Cross-functional knowledge of logistics and strong technology competence, with the ability to collaborate with IT on sales automation.
  • Training and development focus to ensure business continuity planning.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, or management.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
