POSITION SUMMARY

The Development Outreach Manager supports the fundraising efforts at Martha O’Bryan Center through a dynamic combination of strategies that connect Nashville with our mission, including volunteer management, liaising with faith groups, and serving as the agency’s lead tour guide. This role also contributes to the development effort with a proactive and detail-oriented management of related operational processes. As a member of a small and nimble Development team, the Outreach Manager embraces their role as a utility player, ready to manage various projects assigned by the CDO and CEO.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Volunteer Management

  • Manages incoming requests from volunteers and recruit volunteers through various channels including information fairs, stakeholder meetings, and digital outreach.
  • Creatively and proactively works with program staff to develop volunteer opportunities and maintain calendar and menu of volunteer options that add value to programs and provide a variety of meaningful volunteer experiences as well.
  • Manages small, medium and large volunteer groups with appropriate training and preparation as well as follow up to create memorable volunteer experiences.
  • Trains program managers on volunteer program processes and reviews volunteer program with program staff as needed.
  • Onboards volunteers with appropriate safety protocols (background checks, etc) and orientation to Martha O’Bryan Center.

Donor Support

  • Manage process for tour requests as well as the design of tour opportunities at Martha O’Bryan Center, including ongoing revisions to our tours scripts to reflect changes on our campuses and in our programs. Lead tours and serve as the agency’s authority on tour best practices as well as content for tours at our different sites.
  • Manages in-kind donations receiving process, including donor support, dissemination of donations to appropriate programs, and follow up communications as needed.
  • Manages strategy for in-kind donation requests for silent auctions, program needs, events, etc.

Faith Groups Outreach

  • Build and execute comprehensive, ongoing strategy for engaging churches and other faith communities with the mission at Martha O’Bryan Center, including regular cadence of mission updates and managing our requests and stewardship of donations from faither communities.
  • Provide event support for faith communities hosting fundraisers and promotional events in support of Martha O’Bryan Center.

Data Management Support

  • Maintains accurate contact information, and other relevant data about segments of the organization’s constituency as directed, using the Raiser’s Edge system. In coordination with the Development Data Specialist, works proactively to maintain the integrity of the data base, evaluating it for needed information and problems.

Event Management Support

  • Provides logistical support for events, such as set up, clean up, and follow up for participants.
  • Manages segments of complex events such as vendor management, marketing strategy and execution, and space coordination

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • One or more year of related experience and/or training.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the nonprofit sector.

  • Flexible work schedule required. At least 50% of the year, you will be required to work one weekend day in lieu of M-F workday.
  • Regular local travel (50%).
  • Current, valid driver’s license.
