We are seeking an assistant to work alongside our busy support staff and become an important part of our team. An ideal candidate is organized, comfortable with technology, has a positive attitude and can multi-task well.

Knowledge of Jewish traditions and observances not required.

Hours: Full time - 40 hours a week, benefits included, salary DOE

This role reports to the Office Manager, and is either responsible for or has a significant role in the following functions:

Office Assistance:

  • Prepare correspondence and reports, respond to emails, and prepare mailings for the congregation.
  • Coordinating volunteers, maintaining up-to-date volunteer spreadsheets, and sending lists to committee heads.
  • Sending Thank You cards to volunteers.
  • Keep track of office supply inventory, kitchen inventory(food and otherwise), and building supply inventory via spreadsheets.
  • Digitize files.

Programming Assistance:

  • Assist with admin tasks, event logistics, and support.
  • Researching for vendors, price comparisons, items, venues, and volunteers.
  • Help set up, clean up, and host events and programs.
  • Sponsored Kiddush prep.
  • Coordinate programming volunteers.
  • Set up b’nai mitzvah meetings.

Project Assistance:

  1. Assist with capital projects.
  2. Liaison with vendors to schedule work, repairs, etc.
  3. Follow up and tracking of projects.
  4. Other projects as assigned.

General:

  • Maintains confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Maintain workplace security awareness.
  • Follow the Kol Ami Handbook and Emergency Response Guidelines.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to multitask, work in fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer skills, preferably Google Suite, Asana
  • Professional demeanor and attitude
  • Willing to step in and help where needed
  • minimum High school degree or GED, college or associate's degree preferred
