We have a client that is seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  This individual must enjoy supporting clients of any size and take pride in the detail and follow-through necessary to support their insurance needs.  This will be supporting a small agency with an established book of business.


They would consider 100% remote if the candidate is local to the Cedar Rapids area and qualified.

 

In this fast-paced role, the Commercial Lines Account Manager makes a significant impact by supporting our sales and service needs in the following ways:

 

  • Provides technical support to the agency specifically, in analyzing client needs, coverage forms and quotations.
  • Completes applications in coordination with Insurance Producer; submits applications to eligible and appropriate carriers; follows up to ensure timely receipt of quotations and policies.
  • Orders and issues binders, certificates, policies, endorsements and other related items; verifies their accuracy; forwards them to client with appropriate correspondence.
  • Determines if direct or agency billing is appropriate and invoices accordingly.
  • Prepares summaries of insurance, schedules and proposals for word processing as needed.
  • Processes renewals in coordination with Insurance Producer according to agency procedures.
  • Reviews audits of policies; verifies accuracy and facilitates corrections, as needed, between client and carrier.
  • Verifies policy and policy change information, facilitating corrections when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Must meet service and delivery standards and perform all essential functions to the quality and expectations developed by the agency.

  • At a minimum, candidates must be a high school graduate with some college preferred and a minimum of three years of work experience  as an account manager in the insurance industry required   
  • P&C Insurance licenses required or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment; maintain annually    
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and able to quickly learn and utilize other computer applications   
  • Customer service experience or support, preferably in insurance industry  
  • Must have knowledge of Excel to enter data into spreadsheets and work with basic formulas. 
  • Experience using MS Office and Outlook as well as professional phone etiquette. 
  • Because this is a deadline-driven position working with several clients, we are looking for a candidate with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong consideration will also be given to candidates with Personal Lines experience.
