Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in Human Resources? Southeast Colorado Power Association (SECPA) is seeking a dedicated Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and more, ensuring our organization operates smoothly and in accordance with HR best practices. You will be an employee of Southeast Colorado Power Association (SECPA) and also perform your job duties for SECOM, SECPA's broadband subsidiary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment: Lead recruitment efforts from start to finish, including job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination. Maintain applicant records and ensure timely communication with candidates.
  • Onboarding: Facilitate seamless new employee onboarding, ensuring all required documentation is completed and new hires are oriented to company policies and benefits.
  • Compliance: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Assist with Workers' Compensation and leave administration.
  • HR Administration: Manage HR documentation, including organizational charts and job descriptions. Assist in policy development and handbook compliance.
  • Training and Development: Support employee training initiatives and performance review processes. Maintain accurate records of training participation.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in HR roles, demonstrating a solid understanding of HR principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new software.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

ABOUT COMPANY

SECPA is a member-owned rural electric cooperative that provides electric service to over 10,500 AMI meters at 55MW peak. The 13,000 square mile service territory covers all or parts of 11 southeast Colorado counties with 5700 energized line miles (14.4kV, 24.9kV, 69kV). SECPA is headquartered in La Junta, Colorado with three satellite locations in Eads, Lamar, and Springfield. SECOM, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SECPA, is an internet, phone, and data service provider with over 1400 miles of fiber optic cable line, approximately 2300 fiber and 5000 wireless internet customers, and 3800 voice lines. SECOM has a satellite location in Pueblo West, Colorado.
