Senior Cloud Architect JOB SUMMARY: 
The Senior Cloud Architect is responsible for the strategy, design, development, and deployment of cloud infrastructure. This role partners with stakeholders to improve infrastructure manageability, efficiency, and agility by assessing and leveraging cloud services and technologies to improve operational agility, improve the customer experience, lower long-term costs, and increase system resiliency. The Senior Cloud Architect is accountable for assessing current state, identifying future state, identifying gaps between the states, and guiding change to reach the future state of cloud infrastructure capabilities. 
   
Senior Cloud Architect ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (RESPONSIBILITIES): 
•    Partners with peer architects to define and execute the multi-year cloud strategy. 

•    Designs and implements cloud computing infrastructure and services consistent with the Information Technology department’s strategic plan. 

•    Partners closely with applications, data, operations, and security teams to identify opportunities to leverage cloud services and technologies. 

•    Identifies, evaluates, and implements digital technologies and solutions across numerous categories with potential to drive business value and improve operational efficiency. 

•    Reviews emerging technologies, services, and partnerships that will strengthen the security and governance of cloud assets. 

•    Develops standards and best practices for a highly available and fault tolerant architecture. 

•    Provides guidance and support to peers in the process of upskilling around cloud expertise. 

•    Evaluates cloud platform performance, isolates and diagnoses issues, and makes recommendations for problem resolution. 

•    Collaborates with strategic vendors and partners to review and influence product roadmaps, strategies, and plans to ensure alignment with GFB's needs, both current and future, and to ensure infrastructure capabilities are properly tested and validated. 

•    Engages with internal and external stakeholders including senior leadership, employees, customers, and partners to gain support and alignment for cloud solutions and digital transformation initiatives  

•    Exercises awareness with regard to possible suspicious activity, money laundering or fraudulent behavior and reports any such incidents to the BSA department.  Performs all job functions in compliance with all company policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations as applicable to the position, including, but not limited to BSA/AML, OFAC and GLBA/privacy rules.

•    Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.

Senior Cloud Architect REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 
•    Advanced knowledge of client-server, networking, database management, web technologies, and building enterprise architecture roadmaps. 
•    Advanced knowledge of cloud infrastructure and service configurations in the Azure platform across IAAS, PAAS, and SAAS. 
•    Advanced knowledge of DevOps pipeline tools, systems architectures, network security, encryption and information security best practices. 
•    Strong analytical skills. 
•    Excellent communication skills. 
•    Ability to quickly comprehend the capabilities of new technologies. 
•    Ability to measure and monitor development metrics and demonstrate continuous improvement.

Equivalent Education/Experience 
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Technology/Science. 
•    5 years of IT work experience such as cloud architecture, network administration, systems administration, DevOps or related experience in an enterprise IT engineering environment. 
•    Experience designing, integrating, and managing complex enterprise infrastructure solutions.  
•    Experience with Infrastructure as Code deployments. 
•    Experience with scripting languages such as Python, R, Bash, or PowerShell.  
•    Certification as an Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Network Administrator Associate and/or Azure Solutions Architect Expert is highly preferred. 
•    Prior experience in the financial industry is preferred.  

Senior Cloud Architect SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS: 
Work involves dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information and the ability to work with escalated issues and difficult customers. Some travel may be required.
