University Cancer & Blood Center is hiring a full time Volunteer Coordinator. Hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:00pm.

UCBC Volunteer Coordinator Responsibilities:

Volunteer Recruitment and Placement:

  • Develop and implement strategies to attract and recruit volunteers aligned with organizational needs.
  • Screen and interview volunteers to identify skills and interests for optimal placement.
  • Match volunteers with appropriate roles and projects.

Volunteer Training and Development:

  • Develop and deliver orientation programs for new volunteers.

  • Coordinate program-specific training materials as needed in collaboration with staff.

  • Identify and facilitate ongoing training opportunities for volunteers.

Volunteer Management and Support:

  • Develop and maintain volunteer policies and procedures, including job descriptions and a code of conduct.
  • Create and manage a system to track volunteer hours and engagement.

  • Maintain open communication with volunteers, addressing questions and concerns.

  • Assist with conflict resolution as needed.

  •  Develop and maintain relationships with staff and managers in collaboration with volunteers' performance.

Program Development and Evaluation:

  • Assess volunteer opportunities and organizational needs to develop innovative volunteer roles.

  •  Continuously evaluate the volunteer program's effectiveness and make adjustments as needed.

Collaboration and Outreach:

  • Serve as a liaison to schools, organizations, and companies that provide volunteers.
  • Promote volunteer programs through various channels, including social media, events, and community outreach.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, staff, and community partners.

Event Support:

  • Coordinate volunteers to staff events organized by UCBC and UHA.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to the volunteer program.
  • Assist with other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Willingness to cover volunteer shifts as needed.

  • Other duties as assign.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (human resources, non-profit management) preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in volunteer management or a related field.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong ability to recruit, screen, and place volunteers.

  • Experience developing and delivering training programs.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Canva.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Commitment to volunteer engagement and creating positive experiences.
