Job Summary

This is an exempt professional staff role within UGA Extension, responsible for coordinating and delivering 4-H programs in Clay County. The successful candidate will work closely with the 4-H Agent and County Extension Coordinator to develop and implement educational programs for youth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Delivery
    • Design and implement 4-H educational programs for youth in Clay County
    • Develop and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including schools, community organizations, and businesses
    • Collaborate with the 4-H Agent and County Extension Coordinator to plan and deliver programs
  • Volunteer Management
    • Recruit, train, and supervise 4-H volunteers in planning, teaching, and evaluating Cooperative Extension 4-H programs
    • Assist volunteers in the successful completion of the 4-H Chaperone Training
  • Communication and Reporting
    • Develop and maintain accurate and complete reports in GA Counts, 4-H enrollment, and the District office
    • Submit reports to appropriate clientele, staff members, and public officials through electronic mass media and personal contacts
  • Administrative Support
    • Assist staff with day-to-day operations of the Cooperative Extension county office
    • Answer phone, process mail, distribute publications, greet visitors, and file documents as needed
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree in a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
