The Learning Knoll (formerly the Girls Club of Greenfield, Inc) is a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to provide for and advocate for quality program based early education care for children. Our mission is accomplished by providing educational opportunities for children and families. The Learning Knoll seeks a dynamic leader with diverse skills who can move the organization through its next development phase. The ideal candidate will be a fierce advocate for children and families and will possess excellent organizational skills and significant experience managing budgets, financials, fundraising and personnel. Our successful candidate is a team player and leads the organization by example, an experienced leader with a solid track record of reimagining an organization to modern world standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote and advance the mission and philosophy of the agencyCollaborate with the Board of Directors to ensure the sustainability of The Leaning Knoll
  • Research, write, and manage grants
  • Acquire and maintain vendor contracts with EEC, DOE, USDA, and Voucher Slots
  • Collaborate with local organizations dedicated to improving the lives of children, including the United Way
  • Obtain and maintain NAEYC accreditation
  • Develop and maintain QRIS standards
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations, including staying abreast on new regulations
  • Fiscal oversight of all three sites, including presentation of the annual budget to DOB with updates on the financial status at each Board meeting
  • Recruit and hire staff as vacancies arise or delegate to the appropriate site director
  • Onboarding and training of all staff, or delegating to the appropriate site director
  • Maintain staff records in accordance with EEC regulations
  • Direct supervision of Site Directors and administrative staff, indirect supervision of all other staff
  • Facilities maintenance at all three sites, including recommendations for site improvement to the Board
  • Liaison with the community at large to facilitate collaboration on programming to improve the lives of families and children
  • Develop fundraising strategies in collaboration with the Board as well as maintain and improve upon current fundraising initiatives
  • Recruit future Board members in collaboration with the Board

Qualifications:

  • Five plus years of nonprofit senior management, preferably in EEC or related field
  • Three years plus fiscal management experience, including budget preparation, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Knowledge of Early Childhood field or related field, must be able to obtain an Early Education PK Administrator license, if not already certified
  • Strong communications skills including written, oral, social media
  • Manage staff effectively across multiple sites while providing a supportive and collaborative work environment
  • Ability to convey the vision of the organization's strategic future to the Board, staff, volunteers, donors and the community
  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to the nonprofit sector
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Quickbooks
  • First Aid, CPR, and ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain same
  • Ability to both manage and meet multiple high level deadlines amd to delegate tasks when appropriate
  • Occasional evenings and weekends required



Education:

  • Bachelor's degree, required, preferably in Early Childhood Education or related field,
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Physical requirements:
  • The ability to lift 40 pounds
  • The ability to navigate stairs, hills, uneven ground
  • The ability to bend and twist and be on the floor engaged with children
  • The ability to sit in front of a computer for extended periods of time


Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • An Early Education PK Administration license
  • Lead teacher license (or willingness to acquire these licenses).


Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Background Record Check, CORI, SORI and all other relevant background checks.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, salaried position starting at $70,000.
