Alloy Architectural Solutions (“Alloy”) is looking for a full-time Architectural Sheet Metal Project Manager/Estimator to start immediately in our headquarters in the Melrose Park suburb of Chicago, IL.

The Architectural Sheet Metal Project Manager/Estimator will be tasked with bringing Alloy to market as an architectural sheet metal solutions provider for commercial and industrial enterprises. The role will place a heavy emphasis on driving sales and building relationships with opportunities to grow your career and to earn commission at quickly evolving company.

Requirements:

Must be a motivated, self-starter with a degree in Business or a construction-related field and a minimum of five years of experience in Architectural Sheet Metal

  • Previous experience in Architectural Sheet Metal estimating including but not limited to standing seam roofing, ACM/composite wall panel systems, IMP panels, roofing related sheet metal (gutters, gravel stop, coping, etc.)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Self-motivated with the ability to generate new customers and maintain existing customers
  • Good communication skills to effectively turn projects over to project manager
  • Ability to navigate and understand blueprints in both electronic and paper form
  • Professional appearance and communication skills
  • Extremely organized
  • Knowledgeable with Smartsheets

 

Bonus Qualities:

  • CAD experience
  • Project management experience
  • Existing clientele and/or leads
  • Value engineering skills to help projects meet budgets
  • Degree in the construction management field

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed estimates including labor, material, sub-contractor, and other job costs
  • Attend pre-bid site meetings as required
  • Organize all bid documents including drawings, specifications, addendums, photos, etc.
  • Prepare quality takeoffs from drawings, satellite imagery, and/or site visits
  • Solicit quotes from vendors and sub-contractors
  • Submit pre-bid RFI's in a timely manner
  • Review all bid requirements/qualifications and work with administrative team to ensure all criteria are met
  • Prepare and submit proposals and/or bid forms
  • Prepare P.O.'s for vendors and sub-contractors
  • Prepare and submit all required submittals and shop drawings
  • Ensure every detail and expectation is clear and concise before handing project off to Superintendent
  • Schedule subcontractors and equipment needs
  • Prepare and submit change orders
  • Keep project on track and within budget
  • Prepare and submit closeout documents
  • Review all billing with administrative team for their submission

Recruiting Process:

Alloy Architectural Solutions has a three-step recruiting process that is both convenient for our applicants and the company. First, we review all applicants and respond to them within 2 weeks if we are interested. A phone interview is then scheduled to discuss the details of the position and potential fit for employment. The third and final step in the process is an in-person panel interview.
