We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Miller Cooper. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data to develop project proposals, improving the accuracy of our proprietary database, and consulting with our sales manager to ensure project margins and details are met.
Key Responsibilities- Proposal Development: Gather, consolidate, and analyze multiple inputs to develop project proposals, including labor and material estimates.
- Database Management: Improve the accuracy of our proprietary database by updating and refining information and recommending improvements.
- Consultation: Consult with our sales manager regarding project margins and details to ensure competitiveness and consistency.
- Estimate Review: Confirm the accuracy of labor and material estimates and monitor consistency of customer pricing.
- Project Planning: Create preliminary project duration plans and estimated work schedules, as well as accurate, readable, annotated floor plans.
- Site Inspections: Conduct job site inspections to ensure compliance with safety plans and project specifications.
- Experience: 3+ years of work experience in flooring or a related construction industry, with a minimum of 2 years as an Estimator for a construction specialty subcontractor.
- Education: Associates degree in a related field of study preferred.
- Skills: Strong MS Office Suite experience, including Access and Excel, and the ability to learn our proprietary software. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and project specifications.
- Customer Service: Strong customer service focus with excellent interpersonal skills.
