Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Miller Cooper. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in developing project proposals, analyzing costs, and ensuring the accuracy of our estimates.

About the Role

  • Develop project proposals, including labor and material estimates, to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
  • Analyze and refine our proprietary database to improve the accuracy of our estimates.
  • Collaborate with our sales team to ensure project margins and details are accurately represented.
  • Monitor and maintain the consistency of customer pricing.
  • Create preliminary project duration plans and estimated work schedules.
  • Conduct turnover meetings with senior project engineers and other team members.
  • Prioritize timely completion of proposals and ensure delivery to customers.
  • Complete job hazard analysis and project-specific safety plans as required.
  • Conduct job site inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of work experience in flooring or related construction industry; 2 years as an Estimator for a construction specialty subcontractor preferred.
  • Associates degree in a related field of study preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites within a 200-mile radius of Chicago.
  • MS Office Suite experience required, including strong Access and Excel experience.
  • Estimating software experience preferred and ability to learn our proprietary software.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and project specifications.
  • Strong customer service focus with excellent interpersonal skills.
