Opportunity Stanislaus is helping Boyett Petroleum recruit a Safety and Compliance Coordinator. 

A detail-oriented and proactive Safety and Compliance Coordinator. This position will serve as the primary point of contact for our safety program, risk control assessments, selected insurance renewals, and Human Resource functions. The Safety and Compliance Coordinator will mitigate risks and support our commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant workplace environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Work with the Director of Human Resources to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. 
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend appropriate control measures. 
  • Work with regulatory agencies and external auditors during inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. 
  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, near misses, and corrective actions taken, and review the data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Point of contact for workers compensation claims.  Oversee the claim files through contact with Zurich adjusters, employees, clinics, and through Zurich website.  
  •  Assist with the renewal process for selected insurance policies, providing necessary documentation and information to insurance brokers and carriers. 
  • Maintain certificate of insurance documentation.
  • Stay informed about changes in safety regulations and industry trends and make recommendations for updates to policies and procedures as needed. 
  • Respond promptly to employee inquiries and concerns regarding safety issues, providing timely assistance and support as necessary. 
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources team on other projects and initiatives as assigned. 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • 2+ years of experience in safety compliance, risk management, or related field, preferably in a corporate environment. 
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization. 
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. 

EDUCATION DESIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in lieu of education
  • Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., CSP, ASP, OHST) is a plus.

  • Candidates will participate in assessments that are specific to position skillset needs.
