Your opportunity: Human Resources (HR) Specialist – Safety (EH&S)

Human Resources (HR) Specialist – Safety (EH&S) - Your Job Duties:

You will work as part of the small HR team, supporting the Company's safety programs as well as assisting with recruitment coordination.

Health & Safety

  • Lead / Co-Chair the Employee Engagement and Safety committee
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports to local, state, federal & countries entities as required (including OSHA requirements)
  • Serve as primary point of contact for OSHA and other safety audits
  • Provide support to, and centralize point of contact, for matters related to workers compensation claims, investigations and audits and return to work / modified duties
  • Maintain up-to-date safety policies and procedures (ie: Injury Illness Prevention Program, safety programs, safe work practices and equipment) including writing and updating procedures, creating safety flyers and employee communications
  • Develop safety and environmental policies and procedures standards to comply with federal state, and county requirements
  • Prepare and conducts training, inspections and enforcing safety policies to establish a culture of health and safety

Recruitment Coordination / Recruitment Support

  • Monitor job postings and initial review of candidates / share with the hiring managers
  • Support ongoing job posts, refreshes and initial candidate screenings for approximately 5 openings at any given time
  • Utilize third-party job boards and internal ATS platform (JazzHR)

Human Resources (HR) Specialist – Safety (EH&S) - Required Skills & Prior Experience

  • You have previous experience and strong knowledge of OSHA compliance requirements / safety initiatives
  • You have a high attention to detail and pride yourself on accuracy (including with OSHA audits)
  • You have written policies and procedures (ie: safety procedures)
  • You are able to work in office daily in Modesto California (start and stop time flexible)

Human Resources (HR) Specialist – Safety (EH&S) - Desired, Not Required

  • Human Resources certification (PHR / SPHR / SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP or related)
  • Prior experience overseeing the recruitment functions within a company as part of your human resources duties
  • Prior experience using JazzHR candidate ATS / HRIS system

This role is based out of the Modesto office and is an in-office role. You will travel to other offices for meetings throughout California on occasion.

Compensation $75,000 to $90,000 base salary plus additional bonus potential.

You will be provided with company paid medical, dental and vision, 401k with employer match (very strong retirement benefits), paid holidays and flexible vacation time policy.

In support of your professional development, the Company will also provide you with a training and development budget towards professional licensure and/or your professional development/continued education.
