Title: Inside Sales Representative

Reports to: Sales Operations and Marketing Manager

Location: Westlake, TX

Department: Sales

Direct Reports: No direct reports

Summary:

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for accepting incoming calls and prospecting to provide pricing and availability, take orders, and handle issues. The ISR should establish themselves as the key contact for their accounts within Pipeline Plastics.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming calls and deal with or direct customer problems to the proper person or department for resolution.
  • Confirmation of customer order.
  • Customer order maintenance
  • Obtain frequently required information from customers regarding forecasting, competition, and product surveys.
  • Build relationships with all customers, specifically the decision-makers and Outside Sales Reps.
  • Adhere to Quality, ISO 14001
  • Provide pricing and product availability to customers.
  • Pricing and building of unique customer requirements.
  • Initiate customer contact through telephone calls, marketing surveys, or sale leads in advertising.
  • Special projects as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirement:

This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years of sales experience supporting a manufacturing operation.
  • Piping system knowledge is preferred but not necessary.
  • Ability to solve customer issues.
  • Basic knowledge of competitors is preferred.
  • Good verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Previous customer service and/or warehouse experience is preferred but not necessary.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and phone and email etiquette.
  • Ability to handle stress in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Proficient sales skills, working with all levels of sales and distribution channels.
  • Basic/intermediate mathematical skills.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in an open office environment.
