Team Evanston / FC Lakeshore is a competitive soccer club located in Evanston, IL

Qualifications:

Minimum USSF C license (B or higher preferred)
Minimum 5 years of coaching experience
Experience as a youth soccer club director preferred
Experience in Recruiting

Requirements:

  1. Candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to promote the ESA mission and to serve as a role model and mentor for ESA values, including respect, teamwork, grit, and fun

  2. Candidate must demonstrate strong communications skills, especially interpersonal verbal communications and including team and large group presentation skills. Strong writing skills are preferred.

  3. Candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to handle sensitive situations and to resolve individual, team, and club-level issues and challenges in a positive manner.

  4. Seeking an independent, self-starting soccer professional with a willingness to pitch in and assist others in the organization as various needs arise

  5. Minimum 5 years coaching experience in competitive youth soccer; prior management experience in soccer (e.g., Director of Coaching experience) and/or other industries is strongly preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Together with the club’s leadership team, develop and foster the club's culture, standards, and expectations for coaches, players, and teams

2.. In collaboration with with club’s administrator run daily operations for all ESA girls' programming

3. Manage field scheduling in partnership with other directors and chief operations officer.

4. Coordinate effective communication for FCL/TE Girls programming with an emphasis on timing, accuracy, and accessibility of communication.

5. Ongoing recruiting and retaining of players to/for the FCL/TE girls program

6. Develop and continuously improve the FCL girls' program to ensure the highest quality offerings for training, competition, and tournaments.

7. Identify and secure placement in appropriate leagues and tournaments for our girls’ teams.

8. Develop players and programs to compete in higher-level competitions (NPL, MRC, E64, ECNL, etc. )

9. Enforce adherence to club curriculum and instruction standards to ensure that ALL team play follows the club's core principles.

10. Support coaching staff in accessing all equipment necessary to run effective practices

11. Prioritize playing to the club's core principles over results

12. Ensure that training sessions are run effectively and efficiently with an emphasis on ensuring that all teams are receiving the highest quality instruction

13. Support Executive Director in identifying and recruiting the highest-level coaches

14. Oversee player evaluations for players in girls programs, and support coaches in providing clear and specific feedback regarding player development.

15. Collaborate with Executive Director to articulate annual tournament schedule and in partnership with club administrator, coordinate teams attending tournaments and supports needed for a successful tournament experience.

16. Organize and facilitate tryouts for girls programs to ensure a fair and transparent team placement process.

Objectives (for 2024-2025):

  1. Improve player/family satisfaction and loyalty as evidenced by parent mid and post-season survey data

  2. Improve player retention based on analytics available in the club platform

  3. Improve player recruitment, with emphasis on recruiting high level players

  4. Contribute to improving coaching staff

  5. Maximize player development as evidenced by executive director’s evaluative feedback

  6. Maximize team progress as evidenced by executive director's evaluative feedback
