Position Summary

The Program Manager embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adhering to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, while complying with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.

The Program Manager will spearhead planning and execution activities for Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. This includes the development of work plans and performance metrics, monitoring progress to ensure activities are completed on schedule and within budget, coordinating internal and external resources, and fulfilling assigned tasks. Collaboration with managers, directors, and clinicians will be essential to create work plans, metrics, and resources that align with the department's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Fuel Bar Programming for student athletes, including staffing, budgeting, procurement, inventory management, and food safety protocols.
  • Assist the Program Director of Performance Nutrition in gathering, analyzing, and communicating clinical and operational key performance indicators.
  • Develop and manage budgets, resource allocation, information dissemination, meeting facilitation, and overall performance reporting for assigned projects.
  • Implement standard project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, verification, and value measurement definition.
  • Utilize project management tools to ensure precise planning, procurement, and budgeting.
  • Engage in analytical activities such as requirements analysis, resource identification, solution definition, white paper development, implementation/work plan creation, design, system testing, training plans, and rollout strategies.
  • Manage daily operational aspects of projects, effectively minimizing exposure and risk.
  • Prepare and review deliverables for leadership approval, ensuring project documentation is complete, current, and appropriately stored.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels to facilitate continuous updates on project status, ideas, and information among team members, executives, and vendor partners.
  • Work within project budgets to ensure expenditures align with the organization's long-term financial plans and annual capital budgets.
  • Provide leadership and guidance necessary to define, plan, and implement projects effectively.
  • Foster and maintain productive relationships with clients and team members, serving as a liaison between multiple parties. Address and resolve issues that arise within the project team or with clients, recommending mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Create and adjust project work plans as necessary to accommodate changing needs and requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Communications, or a related field.
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Healthcare Administration (MHA) preferred; may substitute for work experience.
