Position Summary

The Program Manager embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization's ethical standards, and complies with all applicable policies and regulations.

The Program Manager will oversee the planning and execution of initiatives within Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. This role includes the creation of work plans and performance metrics, monitoring progress to ensure timely and budget-compliant execution, coordinating both internal and external resources, and fulfilling assigned responsibilities. Collaboration with managers, directors, and healthcare professionals will be essential to develop effective strategies and resources aimed at achieving departmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Fuel Bar Programming for student athletes, including staffing, budgeting, procurement, inventory control, and food safety protocols.
  • Support the Program Director of Performance Nutrition in gathering, analyzing, and communicating clinical and operational performance metrics.
  • Manage project-related aspects such as budgets, resource allocation, information dissemination, meeting facilitation, and performance reporting.
  • Implement standard project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, and value measurement.
  • Utilize project management tools to ensure precise planning, procurement, and budgeting.
  • Engage in analytical activities such as requirements analysis, resource identification, solution definition, and development of implementation plans.
  • Oversee daily operational elements of projects while effectively minimizing risks and exposure.
  • Prepare and review project deliverables for leadership approval, ensuring documentation is complete and properly archived.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels to facilitate ongoing updates on project status among team members and stakeholders.
  • Work within project budgets to align expenditures with long-term financial planning and annual capital budgeting.
  • Provide leadership and guidance necessary for the successful definition, planning, and execution of projects.
  • Foster and maintain productive relationships with clients and team members, serving as a liaison among various parties. Effectively manage challenges that arise within the project team or with clients, recommending strategies to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Create and adjust project work plans as necessary to accommodate evolving needs and requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Communications, or a related field.
  • Five to eight years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships across all organizational levels.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration is preferred; may substitute for work experience.
