Position Summary

The Program Manager embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adhering to our Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program while ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulatory standards.

The Program Manager will spearhead the planning and execution of initiatives within Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. This role involves developing work plans and performance metrics, monitoring progress to ensure timely and budget-compliant execution, and coordinating both internal and external resources to achieve assigned objectives. Collaboration with managers, directors, and clinicians is essential to formulate work plans and metrics that align with departmental strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Fuel Bar Programming for student athletes, including staffing, budgeting, procurement, inventory management, and food safety protocols.
  • Support the Program Director of Performance Nutrition in gathering, analyzing, and communicating clinical and operational key performance indicators.
  • Develop and manage project components such as budgets, resource allocation, information dissemination, meeting facilitation, and performance reporting.
  • Implement standard project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, verification, and value measurement.
  • Utilize project management tools to ensure precise planning, procurement, and budgeting.
  • Engage in analytical activities such as requirements analysis, resource identification, solution definition, and system testing.
  • Manage daily operational aspects of projects while effectively minimizing risks and exposure.
  • Prepare and review deliverables for leadership approval, ensuring all project documentation is complete and appropriately stored.
  • Establish effective communication channels to facilitate continuous updates on project status and developments among team members and stakeholders.
  • Work within project budgets to align expenditures with Northwestern Medicine's Long Term Financial Plan and Annual Capital Budget.
  • Provide leadership and guidance necessary for the successful definition, planning, and implementation of projects.
  • Foster productive relationships with clients and team members, serving as a liaison among various parties. Address and resolve issues that arise within the project team or with clients, recommending strategies to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Create and adjust project work plans as necessary to accommodate changing needs and requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Communications, or a related field.
  • Five to eight years of experience in a relevant role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to build effective working relationships across all organizational levels.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration preferred; may substitute for work experience.
