Position Title: Human Resources Specialist (Workforce Development Specialist)
Location: Oakland, CA 94612
Duration: 6 Months
Work Schedule: M-F 8:15 AM to 5:00 PM

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

Duties:
•Process educational assistance program requests: including advances, and reimbursements, monitoring monies owed upon termination/retirement, inquiries, and follow-up on the closeout of accounts.
•Assist with the coordination of service and retirement gifts and any scheduled awards events.
•Monitor and respond to emails for the Workforce Development in-box.
•Package and distribute rail ends.
•Assistance with any virtual or in-person training scheduled including new supervisor orientation
•Assistance with the Pathlore LMS system by entering employee registration and attendance information.

  • Skills:
    •Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Possession of a high school diploma, GED or recognized equivalent.
Experience: The equivalent of four (4) years of verifiable professional experience in administration or office assistance experience which will have provided the required knowledge and skills listed above.

Policies, procedures, and practices of public sector human resources programs
District's current Oracle PeopleSoft HRIS system
Union contracts and labor practices in a unionized environment
Laws and regulations regarding new hire documents and processes
Principles and practices of customer service
Principles and practices of administrative/clerical support for the day-to-day operations of a function or department
Office management practices and procedures including the operation of standard office equipment
Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation
Basic business data processing principles and the use of on-line computer programs
