At Club Sport, we have a 71,000 sq foot fitness facility with studios, workout spaces, full-service spa, on-site childcare, 2 pools, hot tub, locker rooms and so much more. We are looking for a swim instructor for our aquatics department.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Aquatics Manager who will be responsible for our aquatics program here at the Club

Job Summary: 

The Aquatics Manager is responsible for the promotion, administration, and retention of the club’s aquatic programs. This position also ensures the swimming pool is operated and maintained according to all public health and safety guidelines, as well as all Club Sport’s standards for cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and member service.  The Manager is responsible for supervising and developing the swim coaching staff and creating a positive, rewarding, fun environment.   

 

Duties/Responsibilities:.  

  • Hire, supervise, train, and develop aquatic staff: lifeguards, swim instructors, office staff and swim coaches. 

  • Work with the Fitness Department to coordinate and schedule water exercise classes and other club special events. 

  • Ensure pool water meets health and safety guidelines. 

  • Ensure the pool floor, walls, deck and storage area meet cleanliness standards. 

  • Ensure enforcement of pool policies and rules as established by club management. 

  • Create and maintain industry-leading, innovative aquatics programs for adults and juniors (both core-retention and for-profit); ensure the club’s standards for quality, content, variety are met. 

  • Create group and private lesson curriculum design and schedule. 

  • Plan, promote and execute aquatic programs / events 

  • Assist in teaching lessons and classes, or in coaching practices, as needed. 

  • Meet or outperform budget for aquatics department revenues, labor costs, and other expenses. Explain any results to plan variances.

  • Perform annual budget preparation for aquatics department. 

  • Assist marketing with production of Program Guides, newsletters, etc. 

  • Make recommendations for equipment purchases and repairs; maintain inventory of class and program materials and supplies. 

  • Handle and resolve all member issues or concerns relating to aquatics programming, pool scheduling, pool rules, etc. 

  • Act as Floor Coverage Manager as assigned. 

  • Other projects or tasks assigned by upper management.  

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Swimming and Teaching Skills & Experience 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Working knowledge of Excel

  • Proficient with fitness industry software IE Club Automation, and any fitness club app 

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 

  • Minimum 1 year teaching experience 

  • At least two years related supervisory, or management experience required.  

  • Current CPR and Lifeguard certification  

 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Pass the WSI and CPR certification courses. 

  • Stand and walk for prolonged periods (on deck or in pool) 

  • Work inside pool

  • May work outdoors and exposed to sun for prolonged periods. 

  • Must be observant to all member activities and surroundings with a keen eye, prepared for any emergency response. 

  • Hold and support an adult or child in the water. 

  • Project voice across a crowded, noisy pool, on a sustained basis 

  • Set-up and take-down of light equipment.
