JOB SUMMARY:
The Service Coordinator III-Health/Nutrition Expert manages and supervises the compliance of the health and nutrition service areas of the Early Head Start Child Care Partnership/Head Start program in accordance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and Guidelines, while ensuring that services provided are in alignment with the Social Determinants of Health through a trauma informed care lens as defined by the agency. Provide a comprehensive health and nutrition services program which includes a broad range of medical, dental, and nutrition services to children. Promote early intervention, preventive health services, and assist in the development of the child’s physical, emotional, cognitive, and social competence. Provide the child’s family with the necessary resources and skills to access an ongoing health care system in order to ensure continued comprehensive health and nutrition care services for the child. Functions include the management of health and nutrition services, tracking and coordination of services for children, providing technical assistance, serves as a resource to parents and staff, and collaborating with community partners. The Service Coordinator III- Health/Nutrition Expert is also responsible for writing proposals for program, supervisor/coordination, subcommittee meetings, peer review, departmental compliance, and external and internal reporting of delivery of services. Is responsible for the oversight of the day- to-day operations of centers. Services are provided to children ages birth to five years of age.


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
1. Reports to:      Director, Early Childhood and Head Start Services/Manager, Head Start and Early Head Start Child Care Partnership or                                    designee
2. Directs:            Head Start and Early Head Start Child Care Partnership Services staff and volunteers; liaison for parental leadership;                                      liaison with and provide leadership to personnel and representatives of collaborating agencies, and community residents.                                Content area Specialists and other staff or volunteers as needed
3. Other:              Works cooperatively with all staff to accomplish the mission, goals, objectives and performance measures of the program                                and agency

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training/Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree early childhood, child growth and development, or other related human service field with 18 college hours of Early Childhood Development, with a minimum of two (2) years experience in the respective field required. Master’s degree preferred.
2. Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification.
3. Within 6 months of hire, complete and maintain CLASS Reliability.
4. Experience in collaborative relationships, organization and planning.
5. Previous program management and direct services leadership experience.

6. Must be knowledgeable of Head Start Program Performance Standards, Head Start Act, and Texas Department of Family Protective Services Minimum Rules and Standards.
7. Familiar with and working knowledge of ChildPlus, Microsoft Office Operating Systems, word processing, spreadsheets and databases; basic understanding of database systems and their utilization.
8. Experience working with children 0-5 years old.
9. Demonstrated knowledge of agency and community resources and services, understands cultural differences and is sensitive to the implications of culture for service delivery; and familiar with family dynamics.
10. Fluent in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak) desirable.


REQUIRED CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
1. Certificate or license, as applicable, by the appropriate State agency as a qualified practitioner.
2. State of Texas vehicle operator’s license and proof of liability insurance.
