Job Summary:

The Clinical Dietitian II is a key member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team at University Health System-San Antonio, providing nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy that are integrated and compatible with the patient's medical program goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy using established standards of care and practice protocols/guidelines.
  • Manage resources in a cost-effective manner.
  • Participate in performance improvement efforts.
  • Maintain professional competency and skills required for professional practice.
  • Maintain accepted standards of dietetics and nutrition as recommended by the American Dietetic Association, University Health System policies, and departmental guidelines.
  • Maintain good guest, patient, and professional working relations.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related field is required.
  • A graduate degree in Nutrition or a related field is preferred.
  • Three years of related experience as a clinical dietitian is required.
  • Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) are preferred.

Licensure:

  • Must be a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association.
  • Must possess a current license from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians.
