Our client a Non-Profit Jewish Company located in Central PA is seeking an individual to fill the full-time position of Community and Donor Relations Director. This position will report to the Executive Director and will be an integral part of the community. Generous PTO, Paid Holidays, Heath Benefits, $65-$80 Salary DOE Potential Hybrid Position

Responsibilities of Director of Community and Donor Relations/Legacy Program Director:

  • Provide leadership, overall coordination, and support for the Foundation’s hallmark Legacy program.
  • Work closely with national legacy program professionals and colleagues, the Foundation Executive Director, Board Chair, Board, Committees and other staff.
  • Assist Foundation and participating organizations with legacy development.
  • Guide, encourage, coach, assist, engage and train participating organizational legacy team members to facilitate bequest/testamentary gift conversations.
  • Develop appropriate marketing and other related PR materials.
  • Work with Foundation’s participating organizations to implement the community legacy initiative and customize their individual goals and matrix. Encourage each to meet their goals.
  • Plan and facilitate educational workshop sessions for legacy teams.
  • Ensure appropriate materials are distributed during and post workshops.
  • Work closely with participating teams on a plan for identifying legacy prospects, securing letters of intent, formalizing gifts, and stewarding donors.
  • Design, implement, monitor and review reports to track and analyze results of legacy program and general development.
  • Maintain legacy initiative tracking records and database up to date.
  • Report activities and success on the community wide legacy program to the national program coordinator and Foundation Exec and leadership.
  • Promote legacy giving in the Central PA Jewish communities.

Desirable Technology Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft office and in house software.
  • Track legacy program success, review existing spreadsheets and other tech-based reporting systems in place, update accordingly, and advise Exec, Board, legacy team members of changes when appropriate.
  • Learn in-house CRM and Accounting Systems (Foundant/Community Suite/Grant Module) and other software, become a system matter expert - Zoom, Google, Adobe, Mail Chimp, Website edits, social media, and other technology.
  • Design, curate, and disseminate Marketing/PR materials, newsletters, publications, invitations, holiday cards, formalization documents, stewardship, legacy and other promotional materials via technology and mail.
  • Link appropriate PR/Marketing and other materials to Foundation’s website and circulate appropriately.
  • Become familiar with all aspects of the Foundation business including planned giving vehicles.
  • Participate in event planning for annual legacy donor recognition gala and other events.
  • Ability to participate in occasional evening board and committee meetings, events, and initiatives of the Foundation.

Qualifications of Community and Donor Relations Director:

  • B.A. degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Charitable gift development and funding experience preferred.
  • Experience in a Jewish communal organization is preferred.
  • Relationship building and development experience.
  • Proven expertise in marketing and development strategies.
  • Passion for strengthening the Jewish community and committed to the concept of legacy giving.
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel. PowerPoint, Publisher, Database/CRM and more).
  • Familiarity and expertise with social media and web applications.
  • Experience with and knowledge of planned giving and endowment terminology.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
