Ministry Assistant / Discipleship & Communications

The Ministry Assistant to Discipleship & Communications is a full-time (40 hours/week) position that is considered an essential part of the Park Hill staff team. This person will retain primary responsibility for many tasks that impact the entire congregation. As such, they give support to all other staff members.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and can be described as follows:
Punctual, dependable, cooperative, collaborative, responsible, responsive to calls/emails, self-initiating, creative, attentive to details, flexible, helpful, and receptive to feedback.

Essential Skills:
• Strong command of English language, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop - preferred
• Familiarity with and/or experience in digital layout
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize messages, requests, projects and activities
• Ability to communicate clearly but graciously
• Ability to ask for help when needed

The following responsibilities are considered central to this role:
Discipleship
• Maintaining and printing Bible study rolls and post attendance each week
• Calculating and reporting attendance statistics, running additional reports as requested
• Providing help and resources to Sunday School teachers
• Updating weekly Sunday School announcements
• Ordering, sorting, and distributing quarterly literature for adult Sunday School classes /groups
• Calendaring events and communicating set-ups for all adult Sunday School classes
• Designing, printing, and mailing postcards for various group/ministry events
• Preparing various packets as requested (i.e. Discover Park Hill new member orientation)
• Ordering supplies and preparing coffee for classes in the Adult Education Building

Communications
• Laying out and printing the midweek church-wide newsletter and uploading it to the website
• Designing PowerPoint slides and graphics for in-service and corridor announcements
• Updating the weekly Worship Guide and sending it to the print shop
• Distributing Worship Guides when they arrive from the print shop each week
• Uploading sermon notes each week
• Printing requested banners, posters, cards, letters, etc.
• Designing graphics and writing copy for social media posts to drive engagement online
• Developing a team of qualified volunteers to assist with social media strategy

Reports To: Discipleship Pastor
Others duties as assigned or requested by the Senior Pastor, Executive Pastor, and Discipleship Pastor
