Position: Assistant Safety Manager
Reports To: Safety Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-exempt

The Assistant Safety Manager works with the Safety Manager to monitor construction sites and enforce compliance with government regulations, acts and standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Works with Safety Manager to manage and provide oversight of National Roofing’s safety program.
  • Coordinates National Roofing’s safety program to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses: Identifies and appraises conditions which could produce accidents and financial losses and evaluates potential extent of injuries resulting from accidents.
  • Ensure all job sites are OSHA compliant.
  • Ensure all job sites have employment information posted.
  • Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly safety meetings with Safety Manager guidance.
  • Ensure all Foreman complete the weekly toolbox talks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • 4+ Years of Construction Safety Experience
  • Proven track record of successful OSHA ratings, loss-work records, EMR Safety trainings, etc
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred
  • OSHA 500 Certification is preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, other contractors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
