Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

? Organizes and delegates daily tasks to kitchen personnel and monitors their completion.
? Provides training and support to staff regarding their roles, food safety standards, and cooking techniques.
? Prepares and cooks meals in accordance with production standards and standardized recipes.
? Sets up the cooking area with necessary ingredients and tools.
? Measures, weighs, mixes, chops, and prepares food items.
? Safely utilizes kitchen utensils, including knives.
? Operates cooking equipment such as ovens, stoves, and mixers.
? Employs various cooking methods such as baking, roasting, and steaming for meats and vegetables.
? Presents and portions food according to established guidelines.
? Ensures proper food storage in compliance with safety regulations.
? Cleans and sanitizes workspaces, tools, and equipment.
? Maintains a high level of customer service with a friendly demeanor towards guests and colleagues.
? Adheres to safety policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation practices.
? Safeguards company resources.
? Develops and maintains work schedules and may assist in preparing production documentation.

Qualifications

? Previous supervisory experience in a culinary setting is preferred.
? Experience in a cooking role is required.

? Solid understanding of food preparation principles, cooking methods, and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
? Food safety certification is mandatory.
? Basic math and counting skills are necessary.
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.

This position may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged standing or walking. Uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
