Position Overview:
Ensure the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors within the hospital environment. Engage in ground crew operations for emergency helicopter rescues. Facilitate the transport of patients with behavioral health needs. Serve as the initial responder in emergency scenarios while adhering to hospital policies and procedures. This role is classified as safety-sensitive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • AMBULANCE SUPPORT: Assist with ground ambulance operations as necessary.
  • PATIENT ASSISTANCE: Offer support to patients and visitors as required.
  • HELICOPTER OPERATIONS: Fulfill the duties of ground crew during helicopter operations, including fire suppression tasks.
  • COLLECTIONS: Manage receipt collections at the hospital.
  • ACCESS CONTROL: Lock and unlock hospital entrances in line with operational hours.
  • DATA MANAGEMENT: Input and verify data in systems and forms, ensuring accuracy.
  • ESCORT SERVICES: Provide escort services for patients, visitors, and staff as needed.
  • PATIENT TRANSPORT: Safely transport patients to and from designated areas, following all safety protocols.
  • COMMUNICATION: Inform patients about transport purposes and promote understanding.
  • LOGGING: Maintain a daily log of activities and encounters in accordance with departmental policies.
  • EMERGENCY RESPONSE: React promptly to fire alarms, smoke reports, and fire drills.
  • PARKING MANAGEMENT: Monitor parking areas, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • PATROL DUTIES: Conduct regular patrols of the premises, monitoring for safety hazards and unauthorized individuals.
  • FIRST RESPONSE: Act as the first responder in emergencies, providing immediate assistance.
  • PROCEDURAL AWARENESS: Stay informed about fire and disaster procedures and safety regulations.
  • PERSONAL PROTECTION: Offer personal protection to individuals in challenging situations.
  • REPORTING: Document incidents related to policy violations.
  • SAFETY OVERSIGHT: Address any safety hazards that may arise.
  • FIRE SYSTEM MONITORING: Oversee fire safety systems throughout the facility.
  • SECURITY SYSTEMS: Monitor and maintain familiarity with security protocols and systems.
  • VEHICLE OPERATION: Operate hospital vehicles in compliance with regulations.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: Keep work areas organized and clean.

Bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish or Native American languages; experience in a healthcare security setting; proficiency in computer and data entry skills.

Credentials:
Essential:
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuers certification within 30 days; International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety Certification within one year; valid driver's license.
