Key Responsibilities

? Organizes and delegates daily tasks to kitchen personnel while ensuring timely completion.
? Provides training and support to staff regarding their roles, food safety standards, and cooking techniques.
? Prepares and cooks meals following set guidelines and standardized recipes.
? Ensures workstations are equipped with necessary ingredients and tools.
? Measures, weighs, mixes, chops, and prepares food items as required.
? Utilizes kitchen utensils safely, including knives.
? Operates various cooking equipment including ovens, stoves, and mixers.
? Employs different cooking methods such as baking, roasting, and steaming for various food items.
? Presents and portions dishes according to established standards.
? Follows proper food storage procedures in compliance with safety regulations.
? Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, tools, and equipment.
? Upholds excellent customer service and maintains a positive demeanor towards guests and colleagues.
? Adheres to safety protocols including food safety and sanitation measures.
? Safeguards company resources and assets.
? Develops and maintains work schedules and may assist in preparing production documentation.

Qualifications

? Prior supervisory experience in a culinary setting is preferred.
? Experience in a cooking or related position is required.
? Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight is essential.
? Strong understanding of food preparation principles, cooking methods, and safety regulations is necessary.
? Food safety certification is mandatory.
? Basic math and counting skills are required.
? Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.

This position may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged periods of walking and standing. Uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
