We are currently seeking a skilled IT Field Support Specialist to join our team and part-time (~3 days a week) at a client site located in Midtown Manhattan, NYC.

Job Summary:

As an IT Field Support Specialist, you will be the primary onsite IT support for our client in Midtown NYC. Your role will involve providing end-user support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring seamless communication between the client and their in-house service desk. Additionally, you may be called upon to assist with support for our other clients on occasion. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a strong technical background.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide part-time (~3 days a week) onsite IT support at the client’s Midtown Manhattan office, including hardware and software troubleshooting, network issues, and peripheral setup.
  • Liaison with the client’s in-house service desk to ensure efficient communication and problem resolution.
  • Manage and resolve technical support requests, prioritizing tasks to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operation of the client’s IT infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware such as desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Assist with software deployment, updates, and patch management.
  • Perform remote hands support to our Network Operations Center to support the client's network connectivity, including Wi-Fi, VPN, and wired connections.
  • Perform regular system maintenance and updates to ensure the client’s IT environment is secure and up-to-date.
  • Document support activities, technical issues, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
  • Occasionally provide remote or onsite support to other clients as needed.
  • Collaborate with the MSP team to share knowledge, best practices, and provide feedback on client environments.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service in all interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, preferably in a field support or helpdesk role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and common enterprise software.
  • Experience with hardware troubleshooting, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Experience working within Microsoft 365's Admin Center
  • Experience enrolling machines with Microsoft Intune (Endpoint Manager)
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
  • Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality support.
  • Experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is a plus.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Full-time position based at a client site in Midtown Manhattan, NYC.
  • Occasional travel to other client sites within NYC may be required.
  • On-call support may be required on occasion.
