Job Overview

AHRC NYC is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Support Specialist for our Bronx Adult Day Services program. The annual compensation for this role ranges from $53,000 to $68,000.

The Behavioral Support Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering behavioral support services, conducting diagnostic evaluations, and providing treatment services as part of interdisciplinary teams.


Key Responsibilities


Upon completion of Functional Assessments, the specialist will create tailored behavior support plans and staff intervention strategies, adhering to established content and quality standards.

Monitor and implement effective behavioral data tracking systems.

Prepare additional behavior health-related documentation as required.

Conduct training sessions for staff on behavior treatment strategies and relevant behavioral health topics.

Perform assessments and psychological evaluations as necessary.

Facilitate individual and/or group treatment sessions as needed.


Collaborate with families, medical professionals, residential facilities, and other relevant stakeholders to coordinate psychological care and behavioral programs.

Provide crisis intervention and train staff on appropriate techniques for managing challenging behaviors.

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, offering insights particularly regarding individuals facing behavioral challenges.

Maintain accurate and timely service records for individuals to ensure quality interventions and compliance with regulatory standards.

Execute all duties necessary to uphold compliance with applicable regulations governing service delivery, including record-keeping.

Perform other related tasks as required.
