The Human Resources Payroll Coordinator oversees the company’s HR/ Payroll Department, ensuring payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner, and entire company is in compliance with government regulations as well as internal policies and practices. Ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem- solving skills; strong supervisory and leadership skills and time management skills. Working knowledge of Payroll/ HR regulations and policies and proficiency in ADP are mandatory requirements for this position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for annually reviewing the agency’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters, making recommendations for improvement, communicates changes in personnel policies and procedures and ensures compliance;
  • Responsible for assuring agency compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters, including the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services regulations;
  • Responsible for overseeing accurate and timely payroll processing;
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions;
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including review and input of new hire applications, termination documents, and applying changes to pay rates;
  • Responsible for the personnel recruitment process, and coordinating or conducting exit interviews to determine reasons for separations;
  • Responsible for consulting with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the CEO, on personnel matters;
  • Responsible for working directly with departments to assist them on personnel matters, including assessing and improving and reviewing onboarding process;
  • Responsible for overseeing administration of disciplinary action notices;
  • Responsible for improving and maintaining a digital filing system for personnel files: HR, Health Benefits Records, BSIS database;
  • Processing and maintaining all workers’ compensation claims, unemployment requests, FMLA and leaves of absences. Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors;
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the CEO.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on Payroll Experience is required;

· Professionalism with superior written and verbal communication skills;

· Working understanding of human resource principles; practices, and procedures;

· Mandatory minimum 3-5 years of Human Resource Management experience;

· Proficiency in MS Office, specifically advanced Excel skills;

· ADP workforce Experience is mandatory;

· Experience working with QuickBooks (Desktop);

· Ability to deal with difficult, sensitive and confidential information;

· Strong organizational, time management and prioritization abilities;

· Ability to think strategically, take initiative and problem solver under pressure.

 

Experience:

· Payroll: 3-5 years (Required)

· Human Resources: 3-5 years (Required)

Education/ Certification

· SHRM Certified Professional (Preferred)

· Certified Payroll Professional (Preferred)

· Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources (Preferred)
