Payroll Specialist

Position Type: Full-Time;  Contract to Hire

Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our clients dynamic HR team. This role is critical to ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple states and entities. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of payroll principles, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage key aspects of payroll operations, including data entry, verification, and processing of wages, deductions, reimbursements, and bonuses.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Manager to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, meeting strict weekly deadlines.
  • Conduct audits of new hire records to ensure accurate tax and pay data entry.
  • Manage direct deposit setups, including the collection and processing of banking information.
  • Handle wage garnishment processes in coordination with third-party vendors.
  • Assist with employment verification requests, wage inquiries, and the processing of Medical Support Notices and subpoenas.
  • Prepare and process various payroll adjustments, including PTO accruals and insurance deduction changes.
  • Maintain organized records of payroll data and employee file updates.
  • Participate in cross-functional training and collaborate with team members to ensure comprehensive payroll coverage.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience required.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems, with experience in ADP Enterprise and E-time systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive understanding of payroll regulations and accounting fundamentals.
  • Associate’s degree in Business or a related field is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
