Position Title: Payroll Specialist

Employment Type: Full-Time; Contract to Hire

Role Summary: We are in search of a meticulous and seasoned Payroll Specialist to enhance our client's vibrant HR department. This position plays a vital role in guaranteeing precise and prompt payroll execution across various states and organizations. The successful candidate will possess robust analytical capabilities, a thorough grasp of payroll methodologies, and a dedication to upholding compliance with both federal and state laws.

Primary Duties:

  • Supervise and administer essential components of payroll functions, encompassing data entry, validation, and the calculation of salaries, deductions, reimbursements, and bonuses.
  • Work closely with the Payroll Manager to assure accurate and timely payroll processing, adhering to strict weekly timelines.
  • Perform audits on new hire documentation to verify correct tax and payment data entry.
  • Oversee direct deposit arrangements, including the gathering and processing of banking details.
  • Manage wage garnishment procedures in collaboration with external vendors.
  • Assist with employment verification inquiries, salary questions, and the handling of Medical Support Notices and subpoenas.
  • Prepare and execute various payroll modifications, such as PTO accruals and changes in insurance deductions.
  • Maintain systematic records of payroll information and updates to employee files.
  • Engage in cross-training initiatives and collaborate with colleagues to ensure comprehensive payroll support.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in payroll processing is essential.
  • Familiarity with payroll software, particularly ADP Enterprise and E-time systems, is preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll regulations and accounting principles.
  • An Associate's degree in Business or a related discipline is advantageous.
  • Proficient Excel skills are mandatory.
