The Inside Sales Representative is the first and last point of contact for all existing and new customers that enter the Lighting Gallery. This position is responsible for fostering and retaining customer relationships, conducting outbound sales calls, and working with computers, completing application forms, providing essential documentation in the customer sales process and ability to formulate the best possible solution for the customer.

Excellent Customer Service skills are required in this position as well as the proven ability to complete multiple tasks as the customer’s point of contact from start to finish. Tasks may include price/order quotes, inventory knowledge, product recommendation and customer follow up with exceptional communication throughout each sale. All Inside Sales Representatives are required to work Saturdays.

Essential Functions

  • Perform daily outbound sales calls to customers who inquired products and/or visited store/online inquires
  • Conduct outbound calls to former and/or current customers
  • Take daily initiative to learn the products, lighting gallery, inventory and services to increase sales
  • Contact distributors and product representatives to offer support and build a relationship that will hopefully lead to increased sales.
  • You will be required to obtain the skill set to quote items requested and cross competitors’ lighting fixtures to LA Lighting fixtures. Ask application- and installation-based questions to formulate the best possible option for bids.
  • Proactively utilize the company resources to provide prices. This will require you to comprehensively look at each component of every fixture and build a price for each item as requested.
  • Noting lead times, options, accessories, mounting, wiring, or any anomaly or exception at the time of bid and/or sales is critical.
  • You will often be the first point of contact for all aspects of providing a service to customers and reps (ex: processing defective RGA’s, processing freight claims, issuing replacement orders).
  • Be prepared to troubleshoot, respond to installation inquiries, and/or compatibility issues after deliverables are installed.
  • Document and process orders using correct forms, convert quotes to orders or enter e-mailed orders.
  • You’ll be required to correspond with various departments that respond to on-site dates as communicated on the customer’s order to make sure deliverables will arrive on time. For accuracy, all order details must be reviewed to verify part #, price, and fixture detail (including compatible mounting accessories and options).

Required Skills:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in an Inside Sales position
  • 3+ years of previous working experience performing sales and outbound calls.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM software and MS Excel.
  • In-depth understanding of how to provide service from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Responsive and timely with required details in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Driven and ambitious individual with a strong desire to succeed.
  • MUST be able to work EVERY Saturday
  • Lighting and/or electrical knowledge is helpful, but we offer training.
