The Billing Manager is a working supervisor under CEO and Practice Manager responsible for ensuring the successful achievement of billing and revenue goals across multiple entities in a nationwide footprint. They will understand and provide best practice guidance and recommendations for billing and revenue cycle for both physician practices and ASCs. In conjunction with the existing team of Billing Specialists, Revenue Cycle Manager will be responsible for submitting claims, posting payments, and responding to audit or appeal requests.

This is a dynamic role and will require and individual who knows how to work autonomously in the position and can train and supervise a team along with CEO and Practice Manager. The manager needs to work effectively with both vendors and the current RCM team to allow for future growth expansion.

Responsibilities:

· With vendors in place for billing requirements professional (NextGen) and facility (HST) entities, coordinate current billing team with vendors to develop systems to ensure accurate and timely entry of charges, patient follow up on the facility side, audit, and assessments of prior accounts receivable.

· Interact with vendors to ensure ongoing processes of charge entry, payments, appeals, and reporting are working effectively.

· Communicate RCM information to CEO, Practice Manager, and Director of RCM.

· Responsible for ensuring facilities are meeting coding compliance.

. Enter charges accurately into billing systems.

. Post payments from insurance companies and patients.

. Prepare and submit appeals for denied claims.

. Follow up with insurance companies to resolve outstanding claims and denials.

. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies.

. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance regulations and billing procedures.

· Day-today planning, oversight, and maintenance of Billing and Revenue Cycle workflow to achieve efficient and effective processes.

· Manage patient collections; Provide customer service regarding collection issues and answer patient inquiries regarding balance due and insurance EOBs in a professional, fair, and respectful manner.

· Develop deep understanding of company mission and procedures for effective communication with patients, payers, and clients.

· Identify and communicate changes in regulatory environment and keeps staff abreast of trends in market.

· Oversees the job functions of remote and on-site transactional staff as it relates to the process flow and encourage ongoing skill development and hands-on problem solving within and outside the department.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience with In and Out of Network facilities and physician practices; experience with professional facility billing required.

· 5 or more years of high-volume collections experience (professional and facility) in the healthcare/medical environment.

· 5 years’ healthcare experience required.

· 3 years’ management experience preferred.

· Experience in Revenue Cycle.

· Excellent research, problem-solving and analytical skills as it relates to Revenue Cycle area of expertise.

· Ability to problem solve and create alignment across several internal functions to achieve business objectives.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks on time and on budget.

· Leadership, managerial, and team building skills.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel)

· Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

· Ability to handle numerous requests from internal and external sources in courteous, professional, and collaborative manner.

· Time management skills.

· High level of independence and initiative, deadline driven.

· Ability to communicate effectively to all audiences, including physicians, peers, coders, billers, and payers.

· Experience in streamlining processes, project planning, and public speaking.

· Highly motivated, detail oriented with the ability to motivate teams and/or co-workers.

Education:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
