This team is dedicated to ensuring a precise and timely financial close while facilitating the preparation of financial reports. As a vital member of Corporate Accounting, you will guide your team and oversee critical aspects of the accounting close, reviews, and analyses. You will also play an integral role in our finance transformation and ERP implementation initiatives aimed at establishing a premier accounting organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of three accountants.
  • Support corporate accounting operations, including domestic accounting close, analysis, reconciliations, and the establishment of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Review financial data, cash flow schedules, and footnotes to assist in internal and external reporting, including quarterly 10Q's and 10K's.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and internal policies, including the maintenance of critical controls and participation in testing by audit teams.
  • Oversee stock-based compensation accounting, equity, and revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, as well as billing, accounts receivable, and debt analysis.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of technology and processes, including finance transformation and ERP implementation, while providing support and training to team members.
Qualifications:
  • Self-motivated and inquisitive, with a commitment to improving communication, processes, and systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills, fostering relationships across the Finance organization and collaborating with various departments to ensure accurate accounting transactions.
  • As a leader, inspire and mentor your team, positively influencing their career paths and objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience, with an active CPA license or candidacy.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 6 years in supervisory roles, ideally in public accounting or related positions.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in general ledger software and skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Solid understanding of operational accounting and U.S. GAAP, with experience in financial reporting and accounting policy being a plus.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical decision-making skills.
  • Experience with financial statement audits or working for a public company subject to such audits and SOX compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and a track record of meeting deadlines in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with system implementations, data analysis, and improvement projects is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with stock-based compensation and equity accounting is beneficial but not essential.
  • Open-minded, friendly, and eager to learn and share knowledge.
Team Structure:

This leadership position oversees a team of three accountants and reports to the Senior Director of Corporate Accounting. You will collaborate with one peer Senior Manager within a nine-member Domestic Corporate Accounting team and engage with cross-functional finance and business departments.

Work Environment:

The Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting will operate from our modern corporate headquarters in North Bethesda, Maryland, with a hybrid work model allowing for flexibility in office and remote work.
