Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

·        Performs financial accounting and account analyses.

·        Prepare monthly balance sheets and income statements for multiple companies.

·        Maintain the general ledgers for multiple companies.

·        Reconciles activity in balance sheet accounts and closes the monthly books for multiple companies.

·        Posts bank account activity, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.

·        Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; review accounts receivable monthly.

·        Ensures that accounts payable invoices are charged to the appropriate accounts.

·        Provides outside CPA firm with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit and to prepare and file tax returns.

·        Analytical analysis of trends in revenue and expense accounts.

·        Preparation and presentation of annual budgets.

·        Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

·        Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·        Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

·        Knowledge of general financial accounting.

·        Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.

·        Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software. Experience with Acumatica software preferred.

Education and Experience:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, required.

·        At least three years of related experience required.

Physical Requirements:

·        Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

·        Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
