Immediate opportunity for an experienced litigation paralegal to join our team.  Experience in insurance defense is preferable.  The successful candidate will provide high level paralegal support to supervising attorneys.  Position duties revolve around completing tasks of a legal nature that would otherwise be handled by an attorney.

Job Duties

  • Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, court rules, judicial decisions, legal articles, and legal codes utilizing Lexis or law library.
  • Investigates and gathers facts / law of case and suggests appropriate action.
  • Prepares pertinent legal documents and correspondence.
  • Preparation for and attendance at trial.
  • Reviews and analyzes documents related to case, maintenance of documents in case file.
  • Advanced computer skills; proficient in software programs such as Power Point, Adobe Pro, PerfectLaw, Lexis.
  • Significant client interaction.
  • May assist with law library maintenance.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervising attorney or firm administrator.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal Certificate from ABA approved school or Bachelor’s Degree, JD preferred
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills, data entry skills, and attention to detail.
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
