Responsibilities

Kent E. Gorsuch & Associates, part of the Law Department at State Farm, is seeking a skilled attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation and trial practice. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of civil procedure, evidence rules, and trial strategies.

Key qualifications include:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional oral advocacy and writing abilities
  • Proven ability to manage a time-sensitive caseload

The position is hybrid, requiring a blend of in-office and remote work, with flexibility depending on business needs. Our Southfield office boasts a busy insurance defense practice, providing a supportive and collaborative work environment with experienced staff.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:
  • A Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials
  • An active Michigan law license in good standing
  • A minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, including No Fault/PIP, Bodily Injury, and Premises Liability
  • Jury trial experience is advantageous
  • Strong technological skills for managing lawsuits and courtroom presentations
  • Experience in a paperless work environment
