Description

The Self-Funded Specialist (SFS) position is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with our clients, internal GBS brokers and Consultants. The Self-Funded Specialist works collaboratively with our internal teams on all aspects of self-funding including but not limited to the execution and management of implementations, compliance regulations, stop loss, vendor management and plan design consultation. Must be an effective communicator, strategic thinker, consultative, can present and lead, foster healthy relationships and be open to other perspectives.

The Self-Funded Specialist role is highly focused on supporting both our internal and external customers with their self-funded needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Assist brokers with the self-funded bid process, finalist presentations and renewals as needed.

· Implement new and existing self-funded clients with carriers/TPA’s and Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBM’s).

· Review Plan Documents, Summary Plan Descriptions, SBC’s and Stop Loss contracts.

· Coordinate with GBS staff to complete special projects.

· Review self-funded contracts, i.e., Administrative Service Agreements, NDA’s, Business Associate Agreements

Skills, Knowledge, and Performance Expectations:

· Experience with a PC, proficient in MS Office and Internet is a must

· Expert ability to communicate effectively with others using written and spoken communication

· Proficient relationship building skills, including the capacity to predict and manage behavior, build and leverage cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the organization

· Expert ability to work under demanding time constraints and expectations

· Bachelors Degree preferred

· Health & Life Insurance License preferred

Working Conditions / Essential Functions:

· This position enjoys the benefits and climate control of a quiet office environment. Employees are provided with ergonomically sound workspaces. Work is accomplished at a computer terminal either sitting or standing. Employees must access, input and retrieve information from the computer system. Comfort and efficiency are considered in employee workspaces. Daily work includes computer interfacing, data entry, communications (electronic and physical), movement throughout the office, attending meetings, etc.

· Physical demands include the ability to lift and move objects (typically 0 – 10 lbs), visually monitor information/data on a computer screen
