Procurement Assistant – Parts

Position Summary:

We are searching for a self-starter to join our growing Procurement department. The Procurement Assistant is responsible for ordering of Russo Power’s parts and materials, analyze costs, create purchase orders, submit order to vendors, verify costs, update expected dates and other general administrative tasks. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, the ability to multitask, detail-oriented and good computer skills.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Maintain Russo’s purchasing strategy
  • Create purchase orders and submit to vendors
  • Obtain confirmation and verify costs, quantities, availability and ETA’s
  • Consistently maintain stock levels within internal branches
  • Be a liaison between suppliers and internal departments, maintain strong working relations
  • Develop knowledge of brands used within our industry, both OEM and aftermarket
  • Develop rapport and effectively communicate with vendors and other divisions within the facility
  • Maintain and up-keep of current purchase orders, manufacturers, parts #’s, product descriptions, etc.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must possess good general computer skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, professional attitude, and reliable
  • Ability to handle phone calls and emails effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of outdoor power equipment, landscaping and the snow industry is a plus
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish is a plus
  • Strong analytical and arithmetic skills
  • Self-Starter

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time
  • Continually spend long periods of time looking at a computer screen
  • May be required to stand, walk and use hands-fingers for long periods of time

Credentials and Experience:

  • Previous purchasing experience (preferred)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word)
  • Supply chain software experience (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics NAV, SAP etc.)
