Job Summary: As the Communications Coordinator at Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake, you will play a crucial role in developing creative content and marketing products, implementing social media strategies, tracking analytics, maintaining website operations, and representing the organization at special events. Your contributions will directly impact our mission to provide affordable housing solutions.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Develop creative content and marketing products for the organization.
  2. Implement and steward the social media strategy across multiple platforms.
  3. Track web and social media analytics.
  4. Maintain WordPress website design and operation.
  5. Represent Habitat Chesapeake in-person at special events by coordinating attendees, capturing relevant photos, and providing requested material.
  6. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Implement and steward the social media strategy across platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
  2. Develop custom and creative content for social media and other initiatives.
  3. Assist in developing marketing campaigns for various groups and initiatives.
  4. Maintain the marketing and business development contact system and generate lists for marketing efforts.
  5. Assist with promotional material creation.
  6. Aid in creating ads, postcards, announcements, and other materials as requested.
  7. Contribute to the creation of press releases, media relations content, and other written materials.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Associate or bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, journalism, business administration, or related discipline.
  2. 2-3 years of marketing experience.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  4. Experience with Microsoft Teams is a plus.
  5. General understanding of database management.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, corporate donors, and volunteers.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
  9. Detail-oriented with a commitment to issue resolution.
  10. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a collaborative spirit.
