The Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida is seeking and Events Manager candidate.

The Events Manager works directly at the Development Department to plan and execute signature events in support of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Florida. The manager will steer and produce the culture of the signature fundraising events according to the organization’s mission and strategy. This person will manage and grow existing fundraising events and design and execute new ones.

 

Essential Responsibilities and Expertise Needed

  • Proactively plans, implements, and manages all RMHC South Florida signature events, including but not limited to Twelve Good Men, Clays for a Cause, Pickleball Tournament, Home for the Holidays and other special third-party fundraising events.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple events simultaneously, from conception to completion, while adhering to strict timelines and budgets
  • Acts as primary contact, operational planner, project manager and facilitator for all the events.
  • Coordinate all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, budgeting, and timeline management.
  • Develop clear strategies and objectives for each eventManage and facilitate all event committee meetings and actively recruit members.
  • Works with Development Manager to develop sponsorship packages for identification and solicitation of current or new partners, including any marketing materials.
  • Cultivate relationships with sponsors, donors, volunteers, and community partners to maximize event success and fundraising efforts.
  • Manages and creates timelines, checklists, budgets, staffing and logistics
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with experience in vendor selection, contract negotiation, and vendor relationship management
  • Create marketing and promotional materials to raise awareness and drive attendance for events.
  • Works with Public Relations firm in providing information for press releases and activation of opportunities with media.
  • Clearly defines staff and volunteer coverage for event preparation, including training, to ensure smooth execution and excellent guest experiences.
  • Generates regular reports tracking events, revenue, and expenses within areas of responsibility.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and efficiently during events, ensuring seamless execution and guest satisfaction
  • Ensure that expenditure on all accounts do not exceed budget levels.
  • Evaluate each event's effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Other duties assigned by Executive Director

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with previous event experience required (2+ years), preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Organized, collaborative and driven individual who believes in RMHC’s vision and mission.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and take initiative.
  • Proactive time management skills
  • Works well independently and as a team player.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, verbal and written with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, event management software, and CRM tools (preferably Arreva).
  • Valid Florida driver’s license and operable vehicle to attend meetings and site visits
